TREAT THE EMPLOYEES BETTER SAYS CIPD

Employees of Procurement jobs should be treated better and with more respect. The employers will have to develop a warm bond with them. The Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) feel this is indeed very much important and will play a major role in the success and failures of a company. A single rule or technique may not be followed to achieve this goal. Things vary from place to place and employee to employee.

CIPD employee relations adviser Mike Emmott thinks giving more importance to employees and making them feel easy at the work place goes a long way. To tell them of their importance to the company and that they are valued and cared for, is very much needed in deed. In the due course, the "know me, focus me, care about me, inspire me" mantra from Standard Chartered bank also goes a long way.

Not many employees feel that they are being treated the way they deserve to or for that matter appreciated for the immense hard work they do. Their line manager isn’t that intimate with them. First direct, in a study not long ago found that a good 28 per cent of the employees change their jobs in hope of getting a better one or for that matter a better boss to be rather precise.

The current period of global recession has only made matters worse as people don’t quite know which moment they might be sacked from work.

Young workers today are more bold thinking in terms the treatment they should be getting is concerned, so much so that they are willing to change their very jobs for the same.
